The island has a strong environmental vibe. The resident marine biologist will take you on a guided snorkeling trip, seeing sharks and many turtles. You will also have the opportunity to add a new frame to the coral nursery that the biologist is creating.
Besides Vodi, there are a host of other incredible waves to explore in the area – including Kasabu, Hocus Pocus, and Machines, which offer up a mix of lefts, rights, and something suitable for all levels of surfers.
Heads Up!
Getting there is part of the fun. From Male International Airport you’ll be escorted to the seaplane lounge ready for a fascinating bird’s-eye view flight of the Maldives – a 45-minute seaplane flight to Niyama.
You can also get to the resort via domestic airplane. The journey takes 30-minutes from Male’ International Airport to Dhaalu Airport. Your host will arrange a 10-minute speedboat trip to the resort from the domestic airport.
Some of the domestic planes are small with limited baggage space. If you are planning to bring your surfboard, make sure it doesn’t exceed 7 foot (213 cm). Let us know in advance so that we can confirm the arrangement with the domestic airline.
Expect some minor changes to the speedboat transfer schedule. If you want a worry-free ride that works with your itinerary, then you can choose a private charted transportation too! Make sure to in advance when you make the booking.
